Nothing less than a perfect score does The Townhouse justice. I have had many, many meals here over the years and I have never had a single complaint. Consistently outstanding in every category a restaurant can be judged on. I love the place.

If you're planning on going to Arbroath and not staying at The Townhouse Hotel, you're wrong! Never have we been treated so well by hotel staff before, room was clean, quiet and comfortable. As for the food? Let's just say i've come home a lot heavier than I was when I left! Cannot wait to visit again ASAP! #itsgoodtobekind

Were do I start? Absolutely blown over by this fab wee hotel. Ir did not look sensational from the outside, but never judge a book by its cover. Once inside you sense the warmth and welcoming atmosphere which is reinforced by the exceptional staff who work here - young and older people - male and female. Our room was immaculately clean, simply furnished and decorated but way beyond expectations. It was also comfortable and cosy. Thoughtful touches like tea and coffee provision was appreciated as well as free packaged earplugs, in the event of guests annoyed by the noise of early morning screams from seagulls. Dining here is as good as Michelin Star. Just the perfect place to stay. Well done Townhouse, we're coming back!

My husband and I booked here for three nights but ended up staying an extra night as we enjoyed it so much. The staff couldn't do enough for us very helpful and cheery always, Graeme was the perfect host, we intend visiting again

Gluten free options are excellent, Cullen skink is incredible (but a main rather than a starter I would say!!), drinks just a wonder (loving the cocktails with the ‘bubble’), but star of the show was James. His service was just second to none, he spotted everything and despite the place being absolutely mobbed nothing was too much trouble, he made the experience.

Had the alamo burger, everything ( pulled chicken, chicken goujons,onion rings ,hash brown ) were very good, burger was a total let down, partner enjoyed her mac cheese but thought her cheesecake though tasty, texture was wrong. Was charged for other puddings that we didn't order. Diluting juice was very weak, partner enjoyed her pina colada though.

We stayed in the hotel one night and it was comfortable. The staff is very kind and welcoming. The room was simple and clean and the hotel pub offers a great menu for both dinner and breakfast. The selection of cocktails that can be ordered at the bar is truly noteworthy.

Stayed last night after funeral and the staff were amazing as we arrived on a busy evening (quiz night)finding us a table to have a meal which was lovely.lovely bedrooms and spotless with comfortable beds.Very busy in morning for breakfast with not only guests but public coming in as very good menu and great prices. Would highly recommend and will definitely return

My wife and I were visiting Arbroath for the weekend and a work colleague recommended it. It didn't disappoint. Great choice of food and drink at very reasonable prices.Food was freshly prepared and the service was very good.

Called in here twice on a visit to Arbroath and was so impressed by the friendly and very efficient service and gorgeous food ( we had the fajitas). Lovely staff and I highly recommend the Townhouse

We were there today for lunch , i had normal plate of steak pie, potatoes and veg , lady friend had small plate of the same , and both of us said it was fabulous, the pastry was so light and the steak and gravy was to die for , excellent service, well done everyone 12 out of 10 👍👍👍

The Townhouse Hotel in Arbroath is a MUST visit if you are nearby and looking for somewhere to stay or have a good hearty meal.
My wife and I stayed for 1 night at the end of May 24. I booked online, which was easy, and our stay from start to finish was hassle free and enjoyable. All of the staff from the Snr staff, the restaurant staff to domestic staff, were so welcoming and friendly. I've stayed in many hotels and guest houses, and The Townhouse Hotel in Arbroath has excellent staff who are consistent in their welcoming, friendly customer approach.
The hotel is clean with good facilities. There is also an elevator to the rooms. The double bed room we had was fresh and clean and a reasonable size. The bed was comfortable with additional pillows available. The room was pleasantly warm, and there was also a floor standing fan if required. The room had complimentary tea, coffee, and biscuits. Tv in the room. The room was to the side of the main street and was fairly quiet.
There was a fresh and clean wall tiled accessible bathroom. One small point of note was that the accessible wall support handles on the bath and toilet were a little tired looking but still functional.
We had an evening meal which was delicious and good value. Sadly, I had no room for desert on this occasion. I had the Highland steak burger with the peppercorn sauce topped with haggis, absolutely delicious.
I would love to stay again in the near future.
